Victoria Moreno is an artist and earth scientist from El Paso, Texas who currently resides in Corvallis, Oregon. She is interested in capturing a sense of place and belonging in both physical landscapes and in cultural community. She often uses traditional composition to juxtapose broad variations in scale, theme, and light to explore the many facets of the self. She is largely self-taught, having taken one introductory film photography class in community college. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Geology and Soil Science. She is the website manager of the Oregon Society of Soil Scientists, where she works to bridge the gap between the general public and earth science practitioners through outreach and, hopefully soon, soil-related art.
