Eugene Darkroom Group collaborates with the Maude Kerns Art Center (MKAC) to provide classes through their education program in a variety of photography related areas. See our list of course offerings below. Scholarships are available!
MANUAL CAMERA FUNCTION & SHOOTING BASICS
One 2 Hour Private Lesson - $60
For those who are interested in working in a darkroom but are unfamiliar with shooting film. In this individually scheduled, one-on-one course, an instructor will guide you through the basics of manual camera function and shooting on black & white 35mm film to prepare you for the work in the darkroom. Bring your own camera or use one of ours!

DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESSES
Three 2 Hour Private Lessons + Independent Lab Time - $175
This flexible and customizable course is designed for beginners with no previous experience in a black & white darkroom. In this individually scheduled, one-on-one course, an instructor will guide you through the basics of darkroom photography processes, adjusting the curriculum to focus on your goals. Topics covered include processing black & white film, contact printing, and enlargement printing.

BLACK & WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY REFRESHER COURSE
One 3 Hour Private Lesson - $90
This one-day session is designed for those who have had some previous experience in a darkroom but have been away from it for some time. We'll go through the process of black & white film processing and darkroom printing together as a refresher to these hands-on procedures. Participants must bring shot roll of film to work with for this class. All other materials for this course are included!*

ADVANCED DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESSES
2 Hours Private Lessons*
These customizable courses are for continuing education and developing proficiency with black & white photography and darkroom printing. In these individually scheduled, one-on-one courses, an instructor will work with you on your chosen topics, adjusting the curriculum to focus on your goals. Topics covered can include Processing & Printing Medium Format, Advanced Darkroom Printing, Digital Archiving, and Finishing Prints for Presentation.
*Completion of "Darkroom Photography Processes" required
3-4 HOURS (Lecture & Instruction)
We host a variety of alternative photography process workshops including cyanotype, lumen printing, anthotype, van dyke, bichromate gum printing, and more.
